Abstract

This study aims to analyze the transformation of the concept of territorial security in the digital context through a case study of Sebatik Island as a border space with cyber vulnerabilities. The research employs a qualitative approach using an explanatory case study design based on the analysis of recent literature, policy documents, and conceptual synthesis. The research process was conducted through the mapping of geopolitical-digital configurations, the identification of cyber threat typologies, and the construction of a “layered territorial security” model encompassing physical, digital, and cognitive dimensions. The study was carried out in stages within a single cycle of conceptual analysis. The findings indicate that cyber threats have shifted the focus of security from geographical control toward network resilience and data integrity. This transformation implies the necessity of integrating territorial defense strategies with national digital security governance.
